Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Soul Link Intro

This animation was made in Adobe after effects. After making the logo and background in photoshop I then brought them into after effects to add motion. I keyframed the scale from 0% to 110% then back down to 100%, but slower. I made sure to "easy ease" the keyframes (highlight keyframes and press F9) and mess around with the ramping to make the animation smoother. Once the logo was at 100% I then changed the rotation keyframes the same way I did with the scale. I downloaded some preset animated lightning bolts, changed the colour and the rotation for background effects and then added in the final transition to white. I rendered out the animation and then opened it in Premiere Pro. Then I added music to the video, lined up the audio to make sense with the animation and left a few seconds of music in so that there was a gradual drop off as I started talking in the actual video.

Escape Room Video with Subtitles

For this video, a lot of the emphasis was based on the subtitles. I watched this video from Finzar to learn how to subtitle properly. The main thing with editing on YouTube is trying things and if it doesn't work, look up a tutorial. Finzar has a great YouTube channel that host many great editing tutorilas for free! Another thing people should be conscious of is viewer retention. as of writing this, the retention of this escape room video is an average of 36%, or 4 minutes and 37 seconds with 48% of viewers watching the whole video (this data can be found in the overview section of the video on YouTube Studio). Videos need to be quick paced and have very little dead air. If you are going for a longer video e.g. a video essay (or a Dark Souls lore video) you will want to have information being presented all the tme, except if you are showing a cutscene or animation about your subject. The main goal is to keep the viewers interest.
